BIOGRAPHY

Dignified, sharp, and resourceful, Night is as distant as the nature of his missions need and have made him out to be. He has a grim resting expression and constantly appears exhausted due to his insomnia, but he’s rarely in as sour of a mood as his looks would suggest. He's often considered “the bane of any arrogant shiny that sets foot on his ship”. He values guts and a stomach for the grotesque in his troopers. Night is stern in the way he teaches, but he wouldn't let anyone disrespect his men. Those under his guidance and command learn to embrace their own ingenuity.Night is rather oblivious to how intimidated some people are of him, and his attempts at being amicable are normally met with shivers down a spine. But as intimidating as he could be, no one has ever seen him snap or raise his voice or lose his cool.Though his independence and strong sense of individuality makes him a valuable leader, the Kaminoans find these qualities in their clones threatening and highly undesirable. As any trooper, he was bred to be fiercely loyal. But he has a history of unorthodox tendencies and does not take to his generals as kindly or quickly as a clone should. New generals have his vow of service, loyalty, and protection by default, but must earn his respect. His self-awareness puts him at the bottom of the Kaminoans’ list.

■ His tone of voice / way of speaking sounds like a mixture between Hunter and Thrawn - low, smoky, measured, and slightly monotone.■ Night favors planets with colder climates.■ He dislikes loth cats, even though he seems to attract a lot of them.■ Night is said to be a first generation clone.■ He’s well-read on Mandalorian culture and is fluent in Mando’a.

THE 82nd LEGION

The 82nd Legion is among the smallest clone legions, consisting of at most a total of 4,693 troopers at the beginning of its formation. As time passed, they were later categorized as a stealth operations unit. Most senior clone troopers of this legion are distinguished by their dark grey to blueish black armor and mauve markings. Throughout their history, they’ve seen leadership from several different Jedi generals following the death of their first general, Ahri Kassal. Senior Clone Commander CC-1041 “Night” assumes leadership when they are without a Jedi. They rarely ever seem to work with other units, but the GAR appears quite content with leaving them to their own devices. Due to the unusually high rate of recorded injuries and the nature of assignments they are deployed for when under the command of new generals, it is even hearsay that the legion itself is ”cursed”. They're seen as ill omens.■ Ironically, they travel in a large, old Acclamator-class transport ship named ”The Reaper”. Though it operates on dated equipment and it’s cruising speed is nothing to flaunt, it occasionally serves as a resupply point for other passing Republic ships deep into the Outer Rim.■ Their primary emblem features a krykna, but their "mascot" is a wyyyschokk.■ Jedi Master General Var Daska often sang hearty “space shanties” with the troopers while they flew into battle. They've since kept it as tradition.■ Those of this legion are occasionally nicknamed “gravediggers”.■ Their numbers consist primarily of clones who have been deemed not “cost effective to treat” and were scheduled for recycling. Though Night dislikes being on Kamino, he returns every now and then to recruit those he can.

THE DARKWATCH PLATOON

The 82nd Darkwatch Platoon, led by Night, Sergeant Major CT-8954 “Hull”, Chief Medic CT-1394 “Hollow” and Corporal CT-9482 “Skinner”, is comprised of the legion’s seasoned veterans. Troopers in this platoon are distinguished by their darker, bluish-black, modified armor and equipment. They are often deployed to investigate the more “unsettling and disturbing” reports from those in peril.Though small and quiet in the way they operate like other covert special operations, this platoon is responsible for toppling countless Separatist projects from the inside, shifting the odds in the Republic's favor from the shadows rather than the battlefield.[tldr: the 82nd Darkwatch Platoon have some notoriety surrounding them for the horrors they are sent to deal with - you could call them space ghostbusters. People are often scared of Night but he’s really just a dude for the most part! An intense and lonely dude, but a dude nonetheless!]

RELATIONSHIPS

Var Daska999th Wraith Corp's Senior GeneralNight held a great and deep respect for Var Daska. Old, wise, and selfless, the Jedi Master was once asked to assume a position in the High Council. The offer was ultimately refused. He and Tera Sinube were also known to be very close friends. When his padawan, Ahri Kassal, passed the Trials of Knighthood and thus deemed ready to lead her own men, Master Daska split the Wraith Corps and the new half became the 82nd. He asked that Night honor one last promise: that the two of them continue to watch out for one another, no matter what. Master Daska lived well past the lifespan of a Trandoshan and passed away shortly after the second battle of Felucia.
Fellis OrbellInstructorNight respected Fellis as his instructor, finding his teachings invaluable and critical. Fellis later awarded Night his jaig eyes after his display of resilience and bravery on Phyria.
Ahri Kassal82nd Legion’s first official GeneralHer peers had always described her as "softspoken, with her head in the clouds and a somewhat wistful demeanor". The 82nd entrusted Ahri with their lives and she maintained a perfect balance of friend and general with them- but she knew she owed part of that to Night, who acted as something of an advisor and second-hand-man. Most knew that he treasured her as a little sister, perhaps even a daughter. He dirtied his hands with blood so hers would be clean. Before her passing, Ahri made the decision to give her life to save his through Force healing. Night rarely speaks of her these days, but he is seen visiting her grave alone whenever he returns to Coruscant.
R5-Q7Astromech droidQ7 is a starfighter astromech who accompanied Night as far back as the mission on Phyria. Night insisted on salvaging and repairing Q7 after the droid sacrificed himself to secure valuable intel. By industry and Republic standards, he is a walking mess. He's been equipped with an excessive number of weapons for a maintenance droid, including a compact low caliber blaster. Though Skinner is the one who normally performs general repairs and upgrades, Q7 only listens to Night and serves as a "second eye" around the The Reaper. Most of the other troopers find him a bit creepy due to his tendency to seemingly pop up out of nowhere.
GochoCompanionAn albino Wyyyschokk sling that Gizzard took in as an egg during a brief mission on Kashyyyk. The rest of her cluster was destroyed from enemy fire. Due to safety concerns, Night was against keeping her. She was dropped off at the next nearest planet with a Wyyyschokk population, but later chose to stay and was found aboard the ship again a few weeks later. This time, Night reluctantly allowed her to stay. She roams the lower sections of the Reaper, and inspired a rumor that the 82nd keeps “a beast in their basement”.
HullSergeant MajorHull is one who prefers to play by the books. He's smart, capable, and reliable, but he always seems to be somewhat on edge. Perhaps it's the coffee he seems to enjoy so much. Though he was once offered a position as captain when serving in the 999th along with Night, he favored leading smaller squads. He's been Night's right-hand man for some time and is often the one to remind the commander to actually rest every once in a while.
HollowChief Field MedicA bit of a flirt with a heart of gold, Night sees him as the "hip" youngest brother. He never really understood Hollow's fascination with grav-ball but always indulged in the interest by joining game nights with the other troopers whenever his schedule allowed it. Hollow's earned his place as chief field medic, but he can be lazy at times and isn't shy about complaining.
SkinnerCorporal, Senior ResearcherSkinner is the quietest and most private member of the squad. Night trusts him to gather the appropriate information needed to devise plans for upcoming assignments. Skinner also enjoys collecting model ships and is rather proud of his prized display (which takes more space in their barracks than most would like).
GizzardHeavy Weapons SpecialistBig-hearted and jolly, Gizzard is always ready to face a battle head on. Rumor has it that he was once an ARC trooper who was demoted for disobeying orders. He's been described as having a "stomach of steel" and never complains about even the most unappetizing items on the dining hall's menu. He's the kind of man who isn't hard to please.
Valentine and DogberryCorporalsValentine and Dogberry are twin batchmates who originally served in the Coruscant Guard until they were transferred to the 82nd. Dogberry was demoted from captain for his excessive pride and dramatics. He even tried to usurp Night once, to which he was promptly put in his place. Valentine always seems to have his head in the clouds and is a bit of a hopeless romantic. Though they aren’t the best troopers around, they can put up one hell of a show when needed.
Havoc (@eriklehnsherr)Ally, colleagueThe troopers of the 82nd are always excited to have Havoc visit in their hangar (they consider it a high honor to have the opportunity to pilot him, and even bet amongst each other for the position). On rare instances, Night recruits Havoc from the Bad Batch for private stealth missions. The two share a deep understanding with each other.
Clone Force 99AlliesNight keeps up connections with the Bad Batch through Havoc, occasionally offering The Reaper as a checkpoint for them when they are low on supplies. CF-99 doesn’t particularly get along with most “regs”, but the 82nd aren’t so popular themselves. When CT-1409 “Echo” was rescued from Skako Minor, Night proposed that he was always welcome among his ranks.

RP TWITTER DNI/BYF

Since this account could potentially be midly NSFW, please try not to follow if you are a minor! Racists, homophobes, white supremacists, anti-maskers/vaxxers, antisemites, transphobes, and any other breed of bigot are unwelcome. I’ll tag the usual TW/CW (gore, blood, NSFW, insects, etc.). Please let me know through CuriousCat if you’d like anything else tagged! I can get pretty busy (I'm also a bit shy) so please don't take it personally if it takes me some time to reply to something, or if I forget entirely! I apologize for any delays in advance! I tend to keysmash and use caps OOC. Although I’ve been RPing for years on Tumblr, I’m pretty new to the RP space here on Twitter. It might take me some getting used to! I know his bio talks a lot about horror because that’s what his legion is kinda all about, but I will most likely not write anything too gory! I’m expecting most of my tweets and interactions here to be light, but if you’d like to go with heavier, paragraph-style threads feel free to DM me! The Star Wars universe is so very detailed and personally I’ve only scratched the surface so apologies if I miss something in canon!

ORDER 66

Following the events of Order 66, CT-1041 remained in command of the 82nd Legion for several more cycles. Due to his long history of distaste for Jedi even before the execution of Order 66, CT-1041 was promoted to Purge Commander. He remained in service until he was reported as "killed in action". Following his death, the remainder of his legion was consolidated into various stormtrooper units across the galaxy.[Night was suspicious of an event like Order 66 since the death of Master Kassal. But with no substantial evidence or even a voice in the Senate, and nothing more than his general's dying words and a gut feeling, he was unable to act. When the order was given, Night's inhibitor chip was still active enough to make him execute it. However, due to a handful of pre-existing complications, it eventually ceased to function properly approximately 2 months later. At this point, he began to look into the effects of the inhibitor chip. It is possible that he met with Captain Rex at some point.Night remained with the Empire to fight back from the inside under the alias "Fulcrum", to seek out and guide other unaffected clones and relay intelligence. As he helped as many of his brothers escape, he stayed behind until he was deemed “unfit for combat”. Having staged his own death to the Empire and having done all he could for his brothers and the rebellion, Night’s whereabouts become vague. However, it’s believed that he was seen assisting Rebel forces as late as 4 ABY.]

CADET YEARS

Night was one of five cadets in Sleeper Squad, along with Thale, Dropshot, Heatsink, and Drift. They were trained under a survivalist Mandalorian veteran by the name Fellis Orbell. Fellis’ teachings and values were considered unorthodox, as clones were meant to put their mission above their own lives- not survive. He taught by the principle that there is always another option, you just have to work for it.Night received his name from his habit of “staying up all night” reviewing tactical doctrines and weapons manuals. But more often than not, it's his frequent and vivid nightmares that keep him awake. But despite it all, during his cadet years, he exhibited resourcefulness and promising leadership skills. He preferred to keep to himself and had difficulty bonding with his teammates, but they trusted the skills they saw in him. After some consideration, the Kaminoans begrudgingly allowed Night to undergo enhanced programming and training.

JAIG EYES

Night was awarded his jaig eyes and promoted to captain after successfully carrying out his platoon's mission on Phyria. He was deployed to the planet with the Phantom Platoon to scout and investigate suspicions of a Separatist operation. Phyria is an isolated and largely uninhabited planet in the Azure system. So small and out of Republic radar was it that it posed as an ideal setting for Separatists to work quietly. The Phantom Platoon's transport ship had crashed on arrival due to the planet's hostile atmosphere. While three troopers stayed at the wreckage to manage communications for extraction, the others continued forward with the mission. But when they finally discovered their mark- a large underground research facility- what they found was morbid. The facility had attempted to bioengineer a serum that could rapidly regenerate necrotic tissue and even "bring back the dead". They experimented with bacteria harvested from a local amphibious species that exhibited the desirable natural abilities. Within merely an hour of the serum being administered, test subjects would begin to act starved, delirious, and aggressive. Within an hour and a half, they would become unresponsive despite maintaining consciousness; their bones and limbs would begin to grow at an exponential rate to the point where they would tear through their own skin. Their brains would begin to hemorrhage. After only 2 hours, although the subjects would still be standing, their hearts have stopped and they are technically deceased. The serum proved to be too effective. The bacteria it contained would remain active within a subject's saliva and blood even after death. It wasn't long after the first break of disaster that the situation spiraled out of control.By the time the Phantom Platoon arrived, the facility had been long overrun. And they were only equipped what should have been a recon mission. They tried to contact the others at the wreckage of their ship, but there was no response. Thirty six troopers became thirty, thirty became twenty-two, twenty-two became eight, and eight became one. Night was the sole survivor. Fighting his way to the facility's failing long-range communications center with the help of his astromech, R5-Q7, he managed to send out what data he could to the 999ths flagship with a final encoded warning: COMPROMISED. DO NOT LAND. With no way of even getting off the planet, he was left stranded. As far as he was aware, the Republic would not come to the rescue of a lone clone if they received what they needed. Though Night believed he was already as good as dead, he knew he couldn't risk this project being revisited by the Separatists. If he was going to die, he was going to take their years of research and material with him.Back on the 999th Wraith Corps' flagship, Senior General Var Daska was troubled by the transmission. The GAR accepted the data Night sent and claimed his death would not be in vain. General Daska turned a blind eye when his padawan and Sergeant Hull went against orders and took a starfighter to rescue Night. When they arrived, the facility was in burning ruins. They followed a trail of blood from a hatch on the ground and found him unconscious and near death, surrounded by mangled bodies of what once were human. He and his astromech were taken back to the flagship for decontamination, treatment, and repair. He cannot remember how long he took to recover, but he was asked to follow through with his report as soon as he was stable. To commemorate his resilience and bravery in the face of disaster, Night was awarded his jaig eyes. Though it took time for him to feel that he could wear them with honor.(After the information Night retrieved fell into the Empire's hands following the fall of the Republic, it was revived as Project Blackwing.)

AFTER THE EMPIRE

After staging his death to the Empire, Night retreated to a small rainy planet, living on his own along the outskirts of a quiet seaside village. Their lighthouse comm tower had fallen into disrepair since the passing of its previous lightkeeper, and so he was offered employment without much of a second thought. His duty was to keep the tower running and fend off any raiders who preyed on the town's lack of protection.Night kept almost entirely to himself and only went into town for supplies and groceries. For a while, that’s all the locals ever saw him come around for. They simply knew him as “the lightkeeper”. But the community was small, and it wasn't long until they grew curious of their solitary neighbor and protector. The townsfolk would occasionally ask him to fix their machinery or help transport merchandise. In return, they would visit the lighthouse and share their catch of the day or crops from harvests. As the years passed, Night began to blend in quite nicely. “This isn’t the easiest place to live,” the townsfolk would say, “the winters are harsh and the rain always turns to ice. That’s why we’ve got to help each other out. We don’t care who you were or what you did. All that matters to us is who you choose to be today.” Children would flock to him whenever he visited, tugging at his cloak and asking to hear more spooky stories or tales of heroes with swords of light.Though he struggled to show it, Night cherished simply being with those he protected. Despite the cruelties the galaxy had shown him, in the end, his heart was still gentle and quiet.
